The Olympic gold medal winning Fiji 7s team has taken the Association of National Olympic Committees's Best Male Team of Rio 2016 Award.
Captain Osea Kolinisau received the award on behalf of the team and FASANOC this morning.
The awards ceremony was held at the Qatar National Convention Centre in Doha.
The winners were chosen by a jury comprising of representatives from each of the Continental Associations as well as other representatives from ANOC, International Federations and the media.
FASANOC President Joe Rodan Senior FASANOC Secretary General Lorraine Mar and International Oylmpic member and ONOC President Dr. Robin Mitchell were also at the awards ceremony.
Speaking from Doha to Fijivillage, FASANOC Secretary General Lorraine Mar says they were proud to be at the event and see the Fiji 7s team recognised for their achievement.
FASANOC was also recognised at the awards ceremony for leading Fiji to win a first Olympic Gold medal.
