The Vodafone Fiji Sevens team will face a highly experienced Canadian side in the opening match of the Dubai 7s next week.
John Moonlight will captain Canada.
After featuring at 2015 Rugby World Cup, Moonlight, Harry Jones, Phil Mack, Conor Trainor and Nathan Hirayama return to the sevens fold.
Canada was a impressive team last season as they claimed a 19‑15 win over New Zealand in the Tokyo Sevens Cup quarters.
They became the first Canadian international team at any level to defeat New Zealand.
Fiji will meet Canada in their first pool match at 6pm next Friday.
They will then take on Japan at 9pm next Friday before facing Argentina at 3.28am next Saturday.
South Africa is the defending champion of the Dubai 7s.
Fiji last won the Dubai Sevens in the 2013‑2014 Sevens World Series.
