Go and make us proud once again.
Those were the words of President Jioji Konrote to members of the Vodafone Fiji 7s and Telecom Fijiana when they presented their I-Tatau before heading to the Dubai 7s today.
Konrote shared the conversation he had with Queen Elizabeth 11 during his visit to London this year.
Konrote says her Majesty the Queen told him about her conversation with the Great Britain captain Tom Mitchell.
Meanwhile Vodafone Fiji 7s coach Nacanieli Cawanibuka says the boys are ready to give their best next weekend.
The team is in Pool A with Canada, Wales and Argentina.
Fiji will play their first game against Canada at 7.52pm next Friday and they will face Wales at 11.47pm.
They will play their final pool match against Argentina at 4.48am next Saturday.
The Cup quarters start at 8pm next Saturday, the Cup semis start at 1.41am next Sunday while the Final kicks off at 4.33am Sunday.
Meanwhile new laws will apply to the HSBC 7s Series from January 1st next year as the finals will no longer be played ten minutes a side and will be played 7 minutes a side.
According to World Rugby this is done for player welfare as evidence shows that a disproportionate number of injuries take place in the second half of the finals.
Injuries per minute are higher in the second half of the finals as opposed to the first half and throughout normal matches of seven minutes each way.
