Improving the defence of the Vodafone Fiji 7s team will be a key focus for Interim coach Nacani Cawanibuka as they prepare for the Cape Town 7s this weekend.
He has admitted that the team’s defence was weak in certain areas in the final of the Dubai 7s against South Africa last weekend.
Cawanibuka says the team has great defence but putting in extra focus and effort is also important.
Cawanibuka says all fourteen players will compete again for a spot in the Cape Town 7s 12-men team this week and the final team is expected to be confirmed by Thursday.
The Vodafone Fiji 7s team is pooled with France, Kenya and Japan in the Cape Town 7s.
Fiji will play Japan at 11.05pm Saturday, they will then play Kenya at 2.26am Sunday and Fiji’s final pool match is against France at 6.12am Sunday.
The Cup quarterfinals will begin at 11.04pm Sunday, the semifinals will start at 3.34am Monday and the final will be played at 6.44am Monday.
