Fiji 7s preparations towards 2017/2018 World Sevens Series well underway

With the 2017/2018 World Sevens Series looming in December, members of the Vodafone Fiji 7s training squad are all working hard towards fitness while some are finding game time before their first camp next month.

Coach Gareth Baber who is currently in Hong Kong has been working with players in providing them their gym program before they go into camp.

Barber also confirmed that Pacific Sprint King Banuve Tabakaucoro has now been included in the extended squad.

This weekend, seven players from the extended squad will be featuring for the Savu Water Barbarians 7s team in the Rugby Town Sevens tournament in Denver, Colorado.

They include Olympic gold medalists Jasa Veremalua, Vatemo Ravouvou, Apisai Domolailai and Samisoni Viriviri.

The other players are Savuloni Mocenacagi, Amenoni Nasilasila, Josua Vici, Kitione Taliga, Isake Katonibau and Alivereti Veitokani. 7s legend, Waisale Serevi will also play in the Savu Water Barbarians team.

Speaking to Fijivillage, Veremalua says he is excited to get back on track with other senior players and looking to have more game time.

The national squad will be camping in the second week of next month.

The 2017/2018 World Sevens Series will be held in Dubai from the 1st to the 3rd of December.
