Epeli Rabua breaks 14-yr old drought at the Oceania Swimming Championship in PNG

The Fiji Swimming team has broken the 14-year-old drought after team captain Epeli Rabua won a gold medal in the Men’s 50 metres Breaststroke in the Oceania Swimming Championship which is currently underway in Papua New Guinea.

Rabua showed his other Oceania opponents why he’s the best in the men’s 50m Breaststroke after stopping the clock on 29.34s, 1/100 of a second ahead of Jonathan Rutter of New Zealand who clocked 29.35s.

Taichi Vakasama settle for bronze with a time of 29.36s. Both swimmers went into the race with a lot of confidence and managed to do Fiji proud with their performance.

Our third Oceania medal came from Moana wind who put on a very impressive performance to win Bronze. Moana stopped the clock on 34.08s.

Apart from the Oceania medals, Tevita Fotofili and Rosemarie Rova grabbed an Island medals each.
