England’s World Cup-winning cricketer Ben Stokes has been voted the 2019 BBC Sports Personality of the Year.
The all-rounder was the man of the match as England won the World Cup for the first time with a dramatic super over victory against New Zealand at Lord's.
Also nominated for the award were Formula 1 driver Lewis Hamilton, sprinter Dina Asher-Smith, Manchester City and England footballer Raheem Sterling, world heptathlon champion Katarina Johnson-Thompson and Welsh Rugby Union legend Alun Wyn Jones.
He is also the first cricketer since 2005 to win the prize.
