England wants to keep Eddie Jones as head coach for the 2023 World Cup despite his side losing the 2019 final to the Springboks.
England's Rugby Football Union Chief executive Bill Sweeney says it makes sense to retain Jones, whose current contract expires in 2021.
Sweeney says Jones is one of the world's best coaches, if not the best coach despite the result in the final of the Rugby World Cup.
Jones joined England after the 2015 World Cup where he coached Japan to an upset win over South Africa.
He has reportedly been linked to a return to the Wallabies - a team he coached to a silver medal in the 2003 Rugby World Cup final.
