England Sevens Head Coach Simon Amor has named his squad for the opening round of the 2018/19 HSBC World Rugby Sevens Series in Dubai next week.

The 12‑man squad contains eight players who were instrumental to England’s silver medal success at the Rugby World Cup Sevens held in San Francisco earlier this year, including Harry Glover who was named breakthrough player of the tournament.

Captain Tom Mitchell will be joined by a number of experienced names including all‑time leading try scorer Dan Norton who has amassed 299 World Series tries in his England career to date.

After missing out on selection for the World Cup due to injury, Dan Bibby, Tom Bowen and Ethan Waddleton will each make their return for England in Dubai.

England has been drawn in Pool D with Canada, Japan and Australia for the Dubai 7's next week.

The Dubai 7's will be played next Friday and Saturday.

South Africa are the defending champions of the Dubai 7's and are in Pool A with Argentina, Samoa and Zimbabwe.

Meanwhile the Fiji Airways Men’s National 7's team is pooled with France, Kenya and Scotland.

Fiji will face France in their first pool match at 7.06pm next Friday, Fiji will then play Scotland at 10.06pm next Friday.

Fiji’s last pool match will be against Kenya at 4.06am next Saturday.
