A star-studded Police team has begun their defence of the McDonald’s Coral Coast 7s with an impressive 29-0 win against Outrigger.
Captain Keponi Paul scored two tries.
Police also have the services of Olympians Kitione Taliga and Samisoni Viriviri and players like Fiji Drua centre Ifereimi Tovilevu who are also part of the team.
Police will play Vatutalei Keiviti at 7.20pm which is the Police team 2. Vatutalei Keiviti features former Fiji 7s rep Joeli Lutumailagi.
Police is pooled with Vatutalei Keiviti, Outrigger and Sigatoka River Safari Henibua.
Meanwhile, last year’s runner up, Tabadamu got off to a good start in their first game at the McDonald’s Fiji Coral Coast 7s beating BLK Stallions 14-7
Tabadamu's tries came from Daniele Cakaunivalu and Petero Kerevanua.
Tabadamu has the experience of players like captain Terio Tamani and former Fiji 7s rep Jone Vota.
The Setefano Cakau coached side will face USA Falcons in their next game at 1.54 this afternoon.
