Daniel Carter will not be able to play rugby in France anymore.
French newspaper Le Parisien reported that Carter has a "cervical spine problem" which meant he was unable to complete his planned move as a replacement for Patrick Lambie.
The All Black legend was set to re-join Racing 92 but a failed medical ruled him out.
The report stated that due to his injury, it was unanimously debated that Carter's planned to return to French rugby was halted.
Carter led Racing 92 to championship glory in 2016 and joined the glamour Paris outfit following the All Blacks' 2015 Rugby World Cup victory.
Meanwhile Carter who has played 112 tests for the All Blacks is celebrating his 38th birthday today.
