Cuvu College and Sigatoka Methodist College win Nadroga Navosa Zone

Cuvu College and Sigatoka Methodist College have been crowned the champions of the Nadroga Navosa Secondary Schools Zone.

In the overall medal tally for the men’s division, Cuvu College collected 25 gold, 8 silver and 10 bronze, Sigatoka Methodist College in 2nd place with 12 gold, 13 silver and 15 bronze while Sigatoka Andhra Sangam College came in 3rd place with 5 gold, 9 silver and 10 bronze.

In the overall medal tally for the girl’s division, Sigatoka Methodist College collected 19 gold, 17 silver and 16 bronze, 2nd place is Navosa Central College with 6 gold, 8 silver and 6 bronze while St Theresa College came in 3rd with 6 gold, 2 silver and 9 bronze.

Paula Nasara of Cuvu College won the blue ribbon event in a time of 11.02 seconds while Alumita Sesenibaravi of Nasikawa Mission College won gold in the girls division with a time of 13.58 seconds.

Nasara and Sesenibaravi also collected the best male and female athlete category.

A few zone records was also broken including the 4´400m relays for all the grades in the boys division, Junior Boys 4´100m, Intermediate girls 4´400m relay and the Junior Boys Long Jump.
