Crusaders loose forward Pete Samu has committed to Australian Rugby after signing with the Brumbies for the 2019 Super Rugby season.
It's no secret Wallabies coach Michael Cheika is keen on the Melbourne‑born player, and his shift back to Australia drags him a step closer to donning the yellow jersey.
Samu is eligible to play for New Zealand under his current contract, and New Zealand Rugby would have to release him if he's to play for the Wallabies this year, including during next month's three‑test home series against Ireland.
The Crusaders will take on the Chiefs at 7.35pm Saturday.
