Cowan for Gloucester

All Blacks halfback Jimmy Cowan has been linked to English club Gloucester.

British newspaper The Guardian reported that Gloucester was understood to be deep into negotiations with Cowan.

Cowan’s eye on an overseas contract would come as no surprise given his early-season struggles with the Highlanders.

The 30-year-old Cowan finished as third choice halfback in New Zealand’s successful Rugby World Cup campaign behind Piri Weepu and Andy Ellis last year.

Meanwhile in the lone Super rugby game this Friday, Highlanders will play Rebels at 6.35pm.
