It was all smiles at the Vunisa’s residence in Newtown, Nasinu when Ajit Prasad and Domenica Bevacqua, a couple from Canada surprised them last week.

Ajit who has been residing in Canada for more than 30 years has always been visiting Fiji every year.

He was motivated by his wife Domenicqa to collect some rugby and soccer boots and donate them to the children in Fiji.

Prasad is a former Marist Brothers High School student and is happy to give back to the place he calls home.

The 52-year-old says his wife was touched by Jerry Tuwai’s story and the humble upbringing which led them to Newtown.

The couple says it was an emotional day for them when they met Jerry Tuwai and his family and were reminded to be appreciative of the gift of family.

Meanwhile, Tuwai who is expected to be part of the Vodafone Fiji 7s team to the Wellington and Sydney 7s will be distributing the boots and other playing gears to some schools around Nasinu soon.

The team for the Wellington 7s will be announced later this week.

The Wellington 7s will be held next Saturday and Saturday.
