Countdown begins for 2015 Coca-Cola Games

The countdown has begun for the 2015 Coca-Cola Games.

Over 100 schools around the country will take part in the Coca‑Cola Games National Torch Relay which started today at the Coke head office at Laucala Beach this morning.

Schools from as far as Rabi High School, Wainimakutu Secondary School and Uluivalili Secondary School in Bua to schools in the Capital city will take the torch through villages, small towns and cities on its way to the ANZ Stadium for the Coca‑Cola Games to be held on April 24th and 25th.

Today the first leg of the torch relay will start with Ratu Sukuna Memorial School students taking the torch to William Cross College in Makoi.

William Cross College will hand the torch over to Bhawani Dayal College then on to Dilkusha High School.

Defending boys division champion Marist Brothers High School and girls champion Jasper Williams High School will be the last schools to carry the torch to the ANZ Stadium on the morning of the Coca‑Cola Games.

Coca Cola Amatil Fiji Marketing Manager Lawrence Tikaram said this is the 10th year of the national torch relay and over 200 athletes will be carrying it across the country.

The new schools that will see the torch for the first time are Rewa Secondary School, Noco Junior Secondary School, Dawasamu High School, Ratu Luke Memorial School, Uluivalili Secondary School in Bua, Rabi High School, Nukuloa College, Kamil College in Ba, Sabeto Secondary School, Mulomulo Secondary School in Nadi, Navosa Central College, Bemana Secondary School in Sigatoka, Wainimakutu Secondary and Namosi Secondary School.

Tikaram added that the highlight of the national torch relay is when the torch visits Rabi High School, the Yasawas and the interior of Sigatoka and Namosi for the first time.
