Adam Ashley-Cooper has just told his ACT Brumbies teammates he will quit the club at the end of the season and join arch rivals the NSW Waratahs on a two-year deal.
After two months of uncertainty, Ashley-Cooper finally told the club this morning explaining his reasons for departing.
His reasons are believed to be personal, relating to his family and his Sydney-based girlfriend and has also cited a desire for change.
He made his debut for the Brumbies in 2005 and has played 71 Super Rugby matches for the club.
He made his Test debut against the Springboks in 2005 and has become a key Wallaby with 51 Test caps.
In this week’s Super 15 match, the Brumbies meet the Highlanders at 6:35pm on Friday and at 8:40pm the Waratahs meet the Chiefs.
