George Moala is the latest New Zealand rugby star linked with a move to France with reigning Top 14 champions Clermont said to be close to finalising a deal.
Moala made his All Blacks debut in 2015 against Samoa in Apia but hasn't played in any test since the end of last year.
The Blues centre has since been overtaken by Anton Lienert‑Brown, Ngani Laumape and Jack Goodhue in the All Blacks' midfield options, while Sonny Bill Williams and Ryan Crotty are regular starters.
French Media report that Clermont are on the verge of recruiting Moala for their next season.
Clermont announced the signing of versatile Chiefs back and Samoan international Tim Nanai Williams earlier this month.
Among their current squad is former All Blacks outside back Isaia Toeava, former Chiefs No 8 Fritz Lee and former Hurricanes prop Loni Uhila.
