Former Vodafone Fiji Bati captain and Rugby League great Petero Civoniceva has launched the countdown to the 2018 Rugby League Commonwealth Championship to be played in the Moreton Bay Region next month.
The nines tournament which is not part of the Commonwealth Games will see 11 nations competing along with a team from Fiji.
Fiji National Rugby League CEO Timoci Naleba has confirmed that the Fiji Under 23 will be representing Fiji.
The other countries that will be taking part include Men’s Under 23’s teams from Australia, Scotland, Wales, England, PNG, Samoa and Tonga.
For the Open Women’s teams, it will include Australia, Samoa, Canada, Cook Islands and Tonga while the Physical disabilities teams will be from Australia, New Zealand and a team from the Commonwealth All‑Stars.
The 2018 Rugby League Commonwealth Championship will be held on the 23rd and 24th of next month in Brisbane.
