Eileen Cikamatana has set a New Commonwealth Record in the Women’s 90Kg weight category in the Pacific Mini Games in Vanuatu.
She won three gold medals and set a new Commonwealth record with a Clean and Jerk of 143Kg.
Cikamatana broke her own record she set in late September this year.
She listed 105Kg in the Snatch and got a total of 248Kg.
Eileen returns to Noumea today where she will continue her training for the Commonwealth Games next year.
Meanwhile, Fiji also won 2 gold and 1 silver in Judo yesterday.
The Fiji Women’s Soccer team also had a nil-all draw with Vanuatu in their second match of the Pacific Mini Games.
Looking at the Pacific Mini Games medal tally, PNG is leading with 14 gold, 4 silver and 1 bronze. Samoa is second with 13 gold, 9 silver and 4 bronze while Fiji is now in third place with 11 gold, 6 silver and 11 bronze.
The Rugby 7s competition will start today.
The Team Fiji 7s team will play their first game against Nauru at 8 tonight and their second match will be against Vanuatu at 10.20 tonight.
The medal quarterfinals will start at 4pm tomorrow, medal semifinals at 7.10pm tomorrow while the Gold Medal final will be at 9.55pm tomorrow.
