Former All Black Christian Cullen has endorsed in‑form Crusaders winger Sevu Reece for this year's All Blacks World Cup squad.
Cullen says there are plenty of similarities between Reece and Nehe Milner‑Skudder, who went on to win the 2015 Breakthrough Player of the Year award with his superb play that year.
Reece joined the Crusaders in December as injury cover for the now‑retired Israel Dagg before earning a full‑time contract when Manasa Mataele was sidelined as well early in the season.
Since then, Reece has taken the competition by storm with six tries in five games
TVNZ reports an All Blacks call‑up would cap a remarkable turnaround from the trouble he was in last year when the 22‑year‑old saw his impending deal with Irish club Connacht terminated due to a domestic violence incident last July.
He was discharged without conviction, fined $750 and stood down for one Mitre 10 Cup match for Waikato and while the Chiefs didn't offer him a contract, he was handed a lifeline by the Crusaders.
The Crusaders play the Sharks at 7.35pm Friday.
