Chiefs Assistant Coach, Tabai Matson says he is confident that Brodie Retallick would recover in time to face the Hurricanes next weekend.
This is after the 73‑test lock picked up an injury in the Chiefs' 33‑29 victory over the Blues in Hamilton last Saturday.
Matson says Retallick has had a couple of big scans and it looks positive.
He says that the scans have not shown any broken bones but he is pretty sore and swollen so he will have a breather as a result.
The Chiefs will take on the Lions at 7.35pm tomorrow.
Meanwhile in other Super Rugby matches tomorrow, the Hurricanes will take on the Sunwolves at 10pm.
On Saturday the Sharks will face the Reds at 1.05am, the Highlanders take on the Blues at 7.35pm, the Waratahs will take on the Rebels at 9.45pm while the Stormers play the Brumbies at 1.05am Sunday.
