Cecil Afrika out of Dubai 7s

South Africa's maestro Cecil Afrika has been ruled out of the Dubai 7s due to injury

Kyle Brown, Branco du Preez and Muller du Plessis have been recalled by Coach Neil Powell in the team for the opening tournament of the 2018/19 World Rugby Sevens Series in Dubai next week.

Philip Snyman will captain the side for his third season in charge, while regulars Zain Davids, Werner Kok, Justin Geduld, and Dewald Human will also make the trip to Dubai.

Selvyn Davids will travel with the side as the official replacement player. Stedman Gans and Cecil Afrika were not considered due to injury.

The World Series opener will be played next Friday and Saturday.

South Africa are the defending champions of the Dubai 7's and are in Pool A with Argentina, Samoa and Zimbabwe.

Meanwhile the Fiji Airways Men’s National 7's team is pooled with France, Kenya and Scotland.

Fiji will face France in their first pool match at 7.06pm next Friday, Fiji will then play Scotland at 10.06pm next Friday.

Fiji’s last pool match will be against Kenya at 4.06am next Saturday.
