Brodie Retallick's Rugby World Cup dream remains alive after his injured shoulder avoided significant damage.
The All Blacks lock dislocated his shoulder in the 61st minute of his side's 16‑16 draw against South Africa at Westpac Stadium in Wellington on Saturday night.
The injury came when Springboks replacement lock RG Snyman cleaned him out of a ruck, smashing into his shoulder with the full force of his 117‑kilogram frame.
Coach Steve Hansen says Retallick has only dislocated his shoulder, which means that there is a good possibility he could make the World Cup.
He says there is no timeline yet about when Retallick is going to return to play adding hopefully he will be available to go to the World Cup.
The All Blacks play the Wallabies on the 10th of next month.
