Patrick Bower is the Chef de Mission for Team Fiji to the 2019 Pacific Games in Samoa next year.
Following the announcement, Bower says that the Pacific Games will be a big challenge as he will need the utmost cooperation from National Federations involved as this will be the biggest contingent to any Pacific Games.
Bower confirms that there is an expected 400 athletes and officials from Fiji that will be participating in 25 sports.
Bower says the character of athletes will be an important part of the selection criteria.
Bower and FASANOC CEO Lorraine Mar also highlighted the consequences to be faced by athletes if they break the team agreement.
Fiji has won only one of the 15 Pacific Games.
Bower also highlighted that the Fiji Netball team will not be participating in the 2019 Pacific Games as they will take part in World Netball Championships.
Meanwhile, Team Fiji has advertised for positions for General Managers, Section Managers, Coaches, as well as for Medical Volunteers to assist in the preparations for Samoa.
