Bolabiu to officiate at Rio Olympics

Fijian rugby referee James Bolabiu.

Fijian rugby referee James Bolabiu will officiate at the Rio Olympics sevens tournament.

The 33‑year‑old who has been officiating on the Sevens World Series since 2007 has been included on the women's panel for the Rio Games.

He has officiated more than 200 matches on the men's and women's circuits, and at two Sevens World Cups.

South Africa's 2011 Rugby World Cup final referee Craig Joubert was selected on the men's panel.

The Rio Olympics will be held in August.
