Body of former Fiji 7s team Captain arrives home

The body of former Fiji 7s team Captain Aliposo Waqailiti has arrived home.

Waqailiti passed away in Santa Rosa, California last week at the age of 59.

Waqailiti’s body was also taken to Marist Brothers High School this morning as he was a former student of the school.

The Principal, teachers and students lined up on the driveway of the school to pay their last respects to Waqailiti who was then taken to the Suva Private Hospital.

His body will be taken to his home in Nasinu on Friday before he is laid to rest on Saturday.

Waqailiti captained Fiji in the 1984 Hong Kong 7s where Fiji beat New Zealand 26‑0 in the final.

Waqailiti is survived by his wife, two children and three grandchildren.
