The Vodafone Fiji Bati were beaten by Tonga 21-17 in their second pool match in Golden Point at the NRL Nines Rugby League World Cup.

Tonga led 17-4 at the break.

Fiji did well to draw 17-17  but a golden point try to  Robert Jennings sealed the win for the Tongans.

Penaia Leveleve, Selestino Ravutaumada and Maika Tudravu scored for Fiji.

They will now have to beat the Cook Islands in their last pool match by a good margin and hope Samoa beats Tonga to have any hope of qualification.

Fiji play Cook Islands at 5 pm.
