Barcelona and Real Madrid both lose pool matches respectively in La Liga

Lionel Messi of Barcelona disappointed at today's loss

There was some upset in the Spanish La Liga matches played earlier today.

Leaders Barcelona was beaten 2-1 by Leganes while second placed Real Madrid was thrashed 3-0 by Sevilla.

This was the first loss for the two teams in this season’s La Liga.

However Barcelona and Real Madrid remain first and second respectively.

Meanwhile, Liverpool lost for the first time this season when they were beaten 2-1 by Chelsea in the Carabao Cup.

Eden Hazard and Emerson scored the goals for Chelsea.

Chelsea will play Liverpool once again on Sunday in the English Premier League.
