Fiji Airways Flying Fijians and Newcastle Falcon’s winger Vereniki Goneva has just been named the Aviva Premiership Rugby Player of the Season and the Top Try Scorer.
The former Fiji 7s rep has already won Newcastle’s Player of the Season, Players’ Player of the Season and Try of the Season awards last week.
Goneva scored 13 tries where he was also named in the BT Sports Dream Team as the right winger.
Meanwhile Racing 92 lock Leone Nakarawa was rewarded for an outstanding European campaign by being named European Player of the Year 2018 ‑ presented by Turkish Airlines.
Nakarawa helped Racing 92 to the Champions Cup final in which they were narrowly defeated by Leinster Rugby.
Nakarawa collects one million air miles courtesy of official tournament partners Turkish Airlines as well as a specially‑struck commemorative medal.
Meanwhile the Flying Fijians players who have completed their season will go into camp on the 29th of this month while players whose teams are in the finals or are coming from Super Rugby will join camp on June 4th.
The Flying Fijians first test match will be against Samoa on June 9th at the ANZ Stadium.
Their other matches will be against Georgia and Tonga on the 16th and 23rd of June at the ANZ Stadium and Churchill Park respectively.
