Aussie Men's and Women's sevens announces team to Oceania 7s

The Australian Men’s and Women’s sevens teams have announced their teams to participate at the 2016 Oceania 7s this weekend.

Australian Men’s coach Andy Friend has opted to take a development side which will be captained by Olympian John Porch.

Friend adds that they are in a unique period having been through a changing of the guard after the Rio Olympics.

The Australian 7s team includes Porch, Sam Croke, Bennett Leslie, Conor Mitchell, Tom Connor, Liam McNamara, Josh Coward, Mick Adams, Charlie Taylor, Alex Gibbon, Simon Kennewell and Sam Caslick.

Meanwhile Women’s Head Coach Tim Walsh has chosen a mix of youth and Gold medal experience for the tournament.

They are expected to arrive at the Nadi Airport at 6.40 tonight.

Australia is in Pool B with Samoa, Cook Islands, Solomon Islands and New Caledonia.

The Oceania 7s will be held on Friday and Saturday at the ANZ Stadium.
