Army wins Sukuna Bowl

Vilipe Marakiwai dives for the first try for Army

The prestigious Sukuna Bowl will travel to its new home at the Queen Elizabeth Barracks in Delai Nabua as Army defeated Police 18-10 in the ANZ Sukuna Bowl challenge at a packed ANZ Stadium.

It was an exciting clash between the two disciplined forces and kept thousands of die-hard rugby fans at the edge of their seats.

Tikilaci Vuibau got the first points for Army in the 5th minute through a penalty while Vilipe Marakiwai scored a runaway try in the 23rd minute.

Police threw everything late in the first half and got three points through a penalty by Apisalome Waqatabu.

Police started the second half well and got a try through Ulaiyasi Lawavou in the 7th minute.

Army then replied with their second try through Sunia Bainivalu in the 23rd minute through a chase from a charge down.

Tikilaci Vuibau then kicked a penalty for Army in the 25th minute.

Army kept the pressure late in the second half and denied Police possession.
