Fiji Airways Men’s National 7s Team Coach, Gareth Baber says anyone who tells him that Fijian players struggle with high thought concepts needs to attend their prayer sessions.
While giving his keynote address during the Fiji Sports Awards, Baber says the Fijian players knowledge of the high level teachings of the bible is second to none.
Baber says they are able to recite verses word for word in English and iTaukei and very much comprehend and openly discuss the teachings of the bible.
The coach says this is not something that he learnt and this has tested him.
Baber says it is a shared experience in everything that they do.
He says today lotu (prayer) is very much part of his working day with the team adding that it ultimately pins their drive to success.
Meanwhile, Fiji is pooled with France, Argentina and South Korea for the Los Angeles 7s which starts next Sunday
