Akapusi Qera Creates History

Fiji 15's Rugby Flanker - Akapusi Qera is the first ever Fijian player to be nominated for the Player of the Season in the 2007/2008 Guinness Premiership competition.

Qera, who plays for the Top-of-the-Table Gloucester side and has also scored a few tries this season, is among 5 other players nominated for the award.

Qera is playing his first season in the Guinness Premiership having joined Gloucester from Birmingham-Solihull after the Rugby World Cup.

Gloucester is also in the Guinness Premiership semifinals against Leicester which will be held this weekend.

The Player of the Season in the Guinness Premiership competition will be announced on May 28th.
