It is a great achievement for a school of only 147 students to qualify to the semifinals of the Vodafone Fiji Secondary Schools Football Association Soccer Championship for the first time in the school’s history.
These were the words of Ahmadiyya Muslim Secondary School U19 Coach Ramnish Sami.
Speaking to Fijivillage, Sami says most people have never even heard of the school from the interior of Dreketi despite their great performance at the Secondary Schools Soccer Championships.
He went on to talk about the poor ground conditions that the U19 team uses to conduct their training.
Sami highlighted how families have been very supportive towards the team adding that the players hard work and sacrifice has paid off.
Meanwhile, in the U19 semifinals Bhawani Dayal Arya College will take on Xavier College at 8am while Nadi Muslim College will face Ahmadiya Muslim College at 9.20am today at Prince Charles Park.
