Three Tavua soccer team players have forced their way into the 36-member national U23 training squad who are preparing for the upcoming Oceania Football Confederation U23 Championship which will be held in Fiji next month.
They are Marika Rawasoi, Sumeet Goundar and Pauliasi Natikibau.
Other top players who have been included are Labasa’s Akeimi Ralulu and Ilaisa Nayasi, Ba rep Kishan Sami, Nadi reps Tito Vodowaqa, Jeshal Kumar and Patrick Joseph, Rewa reps Savenaca Baledrokadroka and Bruce Hughes and Suva’s Jovilisi Borisi.
Fiji are in Pool B with Vanuatu, Tonga and Papua New Guinea and will play Tonga in their opening match on the 22nd of next month.
Pool A consists of New Zealand, Solomon Islands, American Samoa and Samoa.
The top two teams of each pool will qualify for the semi-finals.
The winner of the championship will qualify for the Tokyo Olympics next year.
