2018 Fiji Secondary Schools Rugby League competition launched today

The Fiji National Rugby League has today launched the 2018 Fiji Secondary Schools Rugby League competition which is set to kick start this weekend.

A total of 16 schools will take part this year which is 6 schools short of last year.

FNRL has also increased their total prize money to $10,700 from $6,000 last year.

The only six schools that will be competing in all three grades that include Under 15, 17 and 19 are Lelean Memorial School, Assemblies of God High School, Nasinu Secondary School, Ratu Sukuna Memorial School, John Wesley College and Lomary High School.

Queen Victoria School, Suva Grammar and Nabua Secondary are among some of the schools that have dropped out of the competition this year.

The Prize money is as follow, the Under 15 Runner Up will collect $700 while the winner will walkaway with $1,000.

In the Under 17 the runner up will take $1500 while the winner will receive $2,000.

In the main grade Under 19 the winner will take home $3,000 while the runner up will receive $2,500.
