The Fiji Airways Men’s National 7s team are preparing for the unexpected from Wales in their first pool game this weekend in Hamilton 7s.
Coach Gareth Baber says after a scrimmage match with Canada a day after arriving in Hamilton they have figured out some techniques that could help them overthrow their opponents.
Baber says that every first game is difficult because nobody is quite sure what a team is like at that stage.
The team had their last training session yesterday afternoon looking at structures in their defence and attack.
Fiji will take on Wales in their first match of the Hamilton 7s at 10.52am Saturday, they will then face Argentina at 2.42pm and will take on Australia at 6.52pm in their last pool game this Saturday.
The cup quarters will start at 10.36am this Sunday, the semifinals will kick off at 3.16pm and the final will start at 7.10pm this Sunday.
