The Tamavua-i-Wai bridge is open to two lanes of traffic.
This has been confirmed by Fiji Roads Authority Acting CEO Rory Garland who says that after two weeks of round the clock work, FRA contractor Fulton Hogan Highways Civil have completed the most critical strengthening works ahead of time.
Garland says that this will enable motorists to use both lanes of the bridge with an on-going weight restriction whilst the remaining works is completed.
He adds the 18 tonne weight restriction will need to remain in place for both lanes until the completion of the remaining strengthening works.
