52 senior citizens who reside at the Samabula Senior Citizens Home now have a recreation centre which they will be able to utilise in a number of ways.
Health Minister Dr. Neil Sharma who opened the recreation centre today said the senior citizens will be able to take part in various activities at the centre which includes physical exercises, dancing and art and craft.
He added the senior citizens will also be able to spend time with their relatives at the recreation centre who will be coming to visit them.
He said the new centre will also be used as a day care facility in the future.
The recreation centre has been constructed at a cost of $65,000.
Samabula Senior Citizens Home Board Secretary, Marica Hellacy says they collected $65,000 through donations from various organisations and individuals in the last 10 years.
