New USP Kiribati Campus construction completed

The new USP Kiribati Campus

The University of the South Pacific’s new Kiribati Campus construction is completed.

USP Vice-Chancellor and President Professor Rajesh Chandra is happy with the completion of the new campus and said it is a great milestone achievement which will benefit the people of Kiribati by helping them reach their goal in higher education.

The three storey steel structured building comprises of 4 teaching rooms, a lecture theatre, library, book shop, video conference room, computer lab, science lab, and an Atoll Research Centre.

It also includes the College of Foundation Studies, Student Academic Services offices, and a flexible learning room and staff offices.

The new campus was funded through an Asian Development Bank soft loan of US$3.6M.

The new Kiribati Campus will be fully operational from Semester 1 2016 and will be officially opened by the President of Kiribati next week Tuesday.
