Namuamua road in Namosi closed after landslide

The Fiji Roads Authority is issuing a notice for all road users along the Namuamua road in Namosi that is has been closed after a landslide took out half the width of the road yesterday .

FRA Contractors, Fulton Hogan Highways Joint Venture and Engineers from MWH Global have visited the area and have drawn temporary and permanent solutions for the site.

They have confirmed that contractors will commence temporary reinstatement work this week.

The FRA said that the villages of Nakavika, Vunidavo and Wainiyavu will be impacted by this road closure.

The public is requested to plan their trips in and around the area.

It is estimated that it will take a week to construct a temporary access and this is planned for the 10th of this month.
