The Labasa Sugar Mill faced a shortage of sugar cane supply this year.
This has been revealed by the Labasa Sugar Mill Manager Karia Christopher.
Christopher says several times they had to close the mill because of the lack of supply of the sugar cane.
He says another reason is labour shortage.
He says the Labasa Sugar Mill produced a total of 73,000 tonnes of sugar from 653,400 tonnes of sugar cane.
