The French Navy vessel, La Morqueuse has been deployed to Cikobia, Lakeba and Tuvuca Island in Northern Lau to distribute relief items to the people who have been affected by Cyclone Winston.
French Embassy Deputy Head of Commission Jules Irrmann says they will be donating hygiene packs and temporary shelters.
Irrmann says if there is a need to build homes in these islands, the French military engineers are also on board and have taken housing materials and tools to help them.
Irrmann says a few of their patrol boats arrived yesterday from New Caledonia and have also brought in hygiene packs and shelter kits and will be donating it to the Fiji Red Cross for distribution.
