The Fiji Roads Authority’s maintenance team and Higgins have constructed a temporary culvert crossing beside the collapsed Maururu bridge in Ba and this can now be used by buses and cane trucks.
The teams worked till 4am today to carry out the works.
FRA’s Acting CEO, Robert Sen says Maururu bridge had collapsed yesterday when a truck carrying supplies was crossing over the structure.
The two steel beams of this bridge has been badly twisted and will need replacement.
