Celebrities show the world how flamboyant they are at the annual Met Gala

For celebrities, the annual Met Gala is a chance to show the world how famous, fashionable and flamboyant you are.

For the rest of us, it's a chance to watch extremely attractive people wearing their own weight in diamonds and feathers.

The Met Gala is held every May in New York to celebrate the opening of the Metropolitan Museum of Art's latest exhibition, with guests asked to dress to match the theme.

BC reports this year's exhibition is Camp: Notes on Fashion, and guests were encouraged to be as theatrical and colourful as possible.

Singer, Cardi B wore a gown decorated with 30,000 feathers and it took 35 people more than 2,000 hours to make.

Another singer, Katy Perry turned up wearing not just one but two chandeliers, one on her head and one around her waist.
