All 15 people convicted of sedition have been sentenced by Justice Aluthge

All fifteen people convicted of sedition in relation to the Ra Christian state matter have been sentenced by the Lautoka High Court Judge Justice Aruna Aluthge.

Justice Aluthge had earlier found all accused persons guilty on all counts of sedition and convicted them accordingly, except Apolosi Qalilawa, who was convicted of one count of sedition.

Ratu Epeli Niudamu has received a suspended sentence of 2 years, Sereima Rokodi, Samuela Ligabalavu, Mikaele Gonerara, Emosi Toga, Waisake Racaca, Josefa Natau, Isikeli Kabakoro, Suluweti Waqalala, Laisiasa Mocevakaca and Sailasa Malani have been sentenced to 2 years imprisonment with 18 months to be served and the remaining 6 months suspended for 2 years, Nanise Nagusuca has been sentenced to 3 years imprisonment with 24 months to be served and the remaining 12 months suspended for 2 years, Waisea Duailima has been sentenced to 3 years imprisonment with 24 months to be served and the remaining 10 months suspended for 2 years, Ulaiyasi Tuivomo has been sentenced to 2 years imprisonment with 20 months to be served and the remaining 4 months suspended for 2 years and Apolosi Qalilawa has been sentenced to 18 months imprisonment with 12 months to be served and the remaining 6 months suspended for 2 years.
