Three people lost their lives in a house fire in Navakai in Nadi early this morning.
The National Fire Authority says they include two women and one man who were trapped inside the two bedroom house.
Police say the victims are believed to be the 70-year-old woman, her daughter in her 50s and her defacto husband.
National Fire Authority CEO Manasa Lesuma says upon arrival, the house was fully engulfed in flames and the officers had to force their way into the house through the front and back door.
The Nadi Fire Station responded to a call about the fire after 6 o’clock this morning.
Police are now carrying out a joint investigation with the NFA.
The cause of fire is yet to be ascertained.
