Some roads in Navua closed due to flooding

Old Queens Road in Wainadoi and some roads in Navua that include Tokotoko road, Calia Road, Waiyanitu Road opposite FNU in Navua are closed due to flooding.    

Fiji Roads Authority says they are monitoring the situation and waiting for flood waters to recede.

Meanwhile, Police have confirmed that the main Queens Highway is clear to all traffic.

Reports have been received from the Navua Police Station that some places in Navua are currently flooded due to continuous heavy rain.

The areas include Nakaulevu, Wainadoi, Lobau, Raiwaqa, Waidradra, Deuba and Galoa.

The community post is currently monitoring the area to ensure the safety of the affected residents.

Parts of Veisari are also flooded.

The Weather Office says that a trough of low pressure with associated heavy rain and thunderstorms remains slow moving over Fiji.

It is expected to affect the group till Friday.
