The Ministry of iTaukei Affairs will be reviewing the contextulised Child Protection Manual for the iTaukei Communities at a three-day workshop which starts today at GPH in Suva.
Speaking at the review, Permanent Secretary for the Ministry for iTaukei Affairs Naipote Katonitabua says they will review the manual into the context to the changing environment that we are in and take into account the development that is going on.
Katonitabua says the Ministry of iTaukei Affairs took up the challenge in 2011 where they translated the manual for village level.
He says the Ministry and the iTaukei Affairs Board conducted most training and awareness at village level in enforcing the protection of women and children in the iTaukei communities.
Katonibau says this also includes the proposed village By-Laws which has a platform for protection.
He says they are in consultations from this month till the first quarter of next year.
